This study examines whether cloning conflicts with the concept of divine oneness in creation (tawhid fi al-khaliqiyyah) from the perspective of Nahj al-Balagha. Using a library-based documentary method, with note-taking as the research instrument and content analysis as the analytical approach, it draws on Nahj al-Balagha and relevant Quranic verses to address whether cloning is compatible with divine oneness in creation. The findings indicate that cloning does not constitute creation in the sense of bringing something into existence from nothing; rather, it represents creation as shaping and transforming pre-existing matter. Cloning is a process through which human beings utilize existing laws and materials to reproduce living organisms. A Quranic parallel is the miracle of Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him), who fashioned a bird from clay, an act of shaping accomplished by God’s permission. Clearly, using God’s creations to produce a new entity, with His permission, does not contradict divine oneness; rather, it affirms God’s absolute sovereignty over nature. Accordingly, under divine will and authority, cloning does not conflict with the exclusivity of God’s creative power. Nahj al-Balagha distinguishes between genuine creation and origination and the reproduction of existing beings through cloning. This distinction provides a basis for analyzing the relationship between cloning technology and tawhid in creation.
