Digital-age social interpretation of the Quran, by altering meaning production and circulation, offers new grounds for re-reading Quranic verses. This study evaluates the capacities and challenges of this transformation. Using directed content analysis, it examines the re-interpretation of the verses of “Naba” (news) and “Tajassus” (inquisitiveness) regarding digital communication issues. The corpus includes interpretative sources and content from Iranian messaging platforms. Findings indicate that while digital space facilitates audience participation, it poses challenges like hasty dissemination, reduced credibility, and privacy violations. The Naba verse’s concept of “Tabayyun” (verification) provides a foundation for validating information and preventing social harm. Moreover, the prohibition of Tajassus offers a normative capacity to critique data collection and protect human dignity. This research proposes the “Information Health and Data Privacy” model, integrating these verses into a cycle of responsible reception and dissemination. Results demonstrate that social interpretation, when methodologically sound, effectively links Quranic normative implications with emerging technological challenges.
