Abstract
The "New Age" movement claims that humans can achieve truths through introspection and focusing on "self"; "All truths exist inside man" it is enough to find them with techniques and techniques; Therefore, there is no need for external reference (revelation) anymore. A person who has reached self-awareness does not need official institutional religions. The principle of this thought is accepted in the religious mysticism and mystical rituals of the East. In Islamic mysticism, which relies on intuition tied to the book and tradition, self-knowledge is the basic principle of spiritual conduct; Especially in the Selukite school of Najaf, which has a long history of religion and mysticism, it is the focus and attention of its elders such as Seyyed Ali Ghazi, Allameh Tabatabai and their students. In this article, with a descriptive-analytical method, we have compared and compared the views of these two spiritual currents regarding introversion and self-knowledge and its differences. The result is that the importance and principle of self-knowledge and attention to the inner aspect is common between both streams; However, the Najaf School separates itself from the "New Age" movement by behaving in the framework of the revelation teachings of the Prophets by enjoying infallibility in science and practice.
